Sunlight

She stood by the window
As the daylight slipped in,
In a soft solar halo,
Hair kissed by the wind.
I never said her name was perfect,
But perfect knew her name.

When her smile fell upon me,
My soul felt more alive,
Than any ordinary
Man should have the right.
I never said her name was perfect,
But perfect knew her name.

When I held her in my arms,
I knew my life had changed,
But the energy inside her soul,
Could never be contained.
I never said her name was perfect,
But perfect knew her name.

Her memory still lights me
Like the sun lit up that day,
The simplest of moments,
That changed my every day.
I never said that she was perfect,
She was perfect just the same…

I never said her name was perfect,
But perfect knew her name.
